The Sikkim & Darjeeling Circuit is a rare pilgrimage that crosses the frontier between Hindu and Buddhist sacred geography — from the colonial-era hill station of Darjeeling, where the Dhirdham Temple stands beneath the snows of Kanchenjunga, into the ancient Buddhist kingdom of Sikkim, home to some of the Himalayas' most revered monasteries.

Our 5-day journey visits Rumtek Monastery, the seat of the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism; the serene Pemayangtse Monastery in West Sikkim; and the sacred Char Dham complex in Namchi, which houses replicas of the four Chardham shrines alongside a monumental Shiva statue. The journey also includes the Enchey Monastery in Gangtok and the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology.

This circuit is designed for pilgrims who believe that the divine has no single form — and who wish to receive the blessings of both incense-fragrant gompas and flower-adorned Hindu shrines, framed always by the towering presence of Kanchenjunga.

"Above the clouds, beyond the names — the sacred is one."
