Himachal Pradesh — Dev Bhoomi, the Land of the Gods — is home to some of the most powerful Shakti shrines in northern India. Our 5-day circuit visits four of the most celebrated: Jwala Ji, where eternal flames burn without any fuel source; Chintpurni, the Chhinna-masta Shakti Peetha; Naina Devi, overlooking Gobind Sagar Lake; and Baijnath, the ancient Shiva shrine of the Kangra Valley.

Each temple in this circuit carries a distinct energy — Jwala Ji's eternal fire has drawn emperors and saints alike, including Akbar, who offered a golden canopy to the goddess. Naina Devi perches on a dramatic ridge with sweeping views of the Shivalik ranges. Baijnath, set beside the Binwa River, is a pristine example of 13th-century Pratihara temple architecture.

The journey unfolds through cedar and pine forests, apple orchards, and the dramatic Himalayan foothills of Himachal — making this as much a feast for the eyes as for the soul.

"In Himachal's eternal flame, the Mother asks nothing — and gives everything."
